THE HAUNTING HOUR interpreted by Dick Judge Jan. 25, 2006 This is another example of the mystery/suspense series of the 1940s. It ran for a year with 52 episodes. It never hard a national sponsor but was syndi- cated for its entire run. And none of the remaining programs give credit to the cast, writers, producers, directors or anyone connected with the show. It began with the ominouss "No. No. Stay where you are. Do not break the stillness of this moment. For this is a time of mystery, a time when imagination is free and moves swiftly forward... swiftly, silently. This is... The Haunting Hour". And then began well scripted and acted stories of mystery and suspense. The program closed once more with the narrator "From shadows and stillness, mystery weaves a spell of strangest fascination, charging the mind with doubts and fear, for mystery is a strange companion, a living memory in... The Haunting Hour. Below are two listings - the first in numerical order, the second in alpha- betical order. It was difficult to assign the proper number to the shows be- cause the program was syndicated and not all statons aired them in the same order. All 52 Haunting Hours are in circulation.
